Our final Packaging
For our final product, we created a 3D printed package. The packaging can hold up to 6 water bubbles and is very sturdy for easy transport. These packages are biodegradable and reusable.
Our packaging is made through a 3D printer that uses corn based plastic to create the model. The packaging is 6 in. x 4 in. that has six 1.5 inch indentations to hold six water bubbles in each package. The packaging also contains a latch to ensure the packaging stays closed and secure. Although this packaging is made with plastic, the corn based plastic, in correct conditions, can decompose in about a year in contrast with water bottles that can take 450-1,000 years to biodegrade. It's not the perfect solution for our packaging since it still takes a year to biodegrade, however we will continue to research other ways of packaging that are more eco-friendly but still fit our needs.
